Advanced Ultrasonics
Simulation-driven design, validation, and signal processing for ultrasonic systems using FEM modelling, laser vibrometry, AI classification, and uncertainty quantification.
Full Matrix has developed FM-FEM, a FEniCS-based platform for simulating guided-wave propagation in complex geometries. This enables design and optimisation of inspection regimes for components with bends, branches, or wall-thickness variation.
We use these simulations to train machine learning models that can classify defects and quantify detection confidence. Combined with our in-house signal acquisition systems, this supports rapid development of NDT tools for challenging industrial environments.
